You’ll also be working at the frontier of AI: 70% of our portfolio today is LLM-powered. Our engineers leverage the latest tools like Cursor, Claude, and Codex to move faster, write cleaner code, and solve harder problems.

 

What You’ll Do

• Design and build scalable micro-services that power high-growth startups.
• Ship fast with a proven process: async standups, PRDs/RFCs, code reviews, automation.
• Work in an AI-native workflow - leveraging tools like Cursor, Claude, and Codex to speed up development, reduce boilerplate, and focus on solving core startup problems.
• Uphold engineering excellence - clean code, testing, documentation, reliability.
• Collaborate directly with US startup founders and product leaders — shaping solutions that drive their business forward.
• Help shape Spartan’s engineering culture - we’re 1% pass-rate engineers who work like founders, not contractors.

Your Skills and Experience

What We’re Looking For

• Fluent in English - you’ll talk directly with US startup founders.
• 2+ years of solid backend experience with one of: Java, TypeScript, Python, Go, C#.
• Strong CS fundamentals: algorithms, data structures, scalability.
• Experience with testing, dependency injection, and distributed systems.
• A builder’s mindset — you don’t just code, you solve problems like an owner.
