Senior Automotive Software Tester QA Engineer, QA QC

Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Automotive Software Tester / QA Engineer with 5+ years of experience in software testing, including solid hands-on experience in automotive software projects.
In this role, you will own testing activities end to end, define test strategies, ensure adequate test coverage, and drive overall product quality. You will work closely with PMs, developers, system engineers, and customers, and support continuous improvement of QA processes while mentoring junior testers.
[Operational Direction] In the short term, the focus is on thorough and efficient manual testing to ensure software stability and vehicle integration quality. In the mid-to-long term, we plan to progressively introduce automated testing to improve test coverage, repeatability, and overall testing efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Test Ownership & Strategy
- Analyze requirements, system design, and risks
- Define test strategy, test plans, and test scope
- Design and maintain high-quality test cases
- Ensure sufficient test coverage for features and releases
Execution & Quality Control
- Perform and coordinate manual and automated testing
- Lead regression and system testing
- Review defect reports and ensure quality standards
- Drive root cause analysis for recurring issues
Automotive & Process
- Apply automotive standards (ASPICE, ISO 26262 – if applicable)
- Coordinate testing on real vehicles, simulators, or HW setups
- Collaborate closely with PMs, developers, system engineers, and customers
Leadership & Mentoring
- Mentor junior testers and review their work
- Provide input to process improvements and QA best practices
- Report quality status, risks, and release readiness to stakeholde
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical
- 5+ years of experience in software testing / QA
- Strong understanding of SDLC and test methodologies
- Experience in automotive software testing
- Excellent test design and defect analysis skills
- Experience with test management and tracking tools
Soft Skills
- Strong ownership and accountability
- Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to manage priorities and testing risks
- Ability to read technical documentation and communicate in English for work purposes
- Coaching and leadership mindset
Nice to Have
- Experience with automation frameworks
- Knowledge of CAN/LIN, diagnostics, vehicle networks
- Experience with HMI, infotainment, ADAS, or embedded Linux
- ASPICE assessor experience or involvement in audits
