Job Description

Material flow design expert is responsible for material flow design, green & brown field implementation, automation implementation, and project management. As a material flow design expert, you need to :

• Evaluate material flow requirement, such as space/layout, mobile equipment & facilities, route planning, logistics systems, and manning.

• Design material flow proposal for green field or brown field.

• Lead logistics automation implementation.

• Execute logistics project management.

• Design and establish material flow proposal, cover logistics operation from good receiving, put away, storage, kitting & sequence, line feeding, and material transfer between workshops.

• Develop Plan for Every Part (PFEP), material feeding strategy, storage mode evaluation, space requirement calculation, layout, equipment & facilities selection, route planning, systems, manning.

• Alignment with Shop ME / Purchase / Inbound / Packaging teams for efficient Material Flow.

• SOW/SOR, order placement, installation & commissioning (Hi-Bay, mobile equipment, automation facility, supermarket & line racks, racks for kitting/sequencing/delivery to line).

• Be able to propose effective optimization directions for logistics information systems, improve logistics operation efficiency and quality, and reduce logistics operation cost.

• Project feasibility studies.

• Design and establish material flow proposal, cover logistics operation from good receiving, put away, storage, kitting & sequence, line feeding, and material transfer between workshops.

• Develop Plan for Every Part (PFEP), material feeding strategy, storage mode evaluation, space requirement calculation, layout, equipment & facilities selection, route planning, systems, manning.

• Alignment with Shop ME / Purchase / Inbound / Packaging teams for efficient Material Flow.

• SOW/SOR, order placement, installation & commissioning (Hi-Bay, mobile equipment, automation facility, supermarket & line racks, racks for kitting/sequencing/delivery to line).

• Be able to propose effective optimization directions for logistics information systems, improve logistics operation efficiency and quality, and reduce logistics operation cost.

• Responsible for material flow design of green field/brown field, including building & utility requirement, supplier park, logistics strategy, logistics operation mode, investment budget planning & control, warehouse layout, space requirement, process layout analysis, line side position planning, automation implementation, headcount, etc.

• Develop automation equipment selection criteria.

• Lead the conceptual design of logistics automation projects (such as AGV, ASRS, conveyor, robot, etc.). To find the balance between complex layout, process, cost and delivery time constraints, and design simple and durable logistics automation solutions.

• Review and confirm the supplier's technical solutions, including mechanical solutions, electrical control solutions, information system solutions, safety solutions, etc.

• Lead the on-site debugging, problem investigation and resolution of logistics automation project.

• Build the system architecture of logistics automation equipment and interact with production and logistics systems efficiently and stably. Master the latest development trends of logistics automation technology in the industry and always maintain efficiency and creativity.

• Clarify the project input and output requirements, and be able to use simulation technology to model and analyze logistics operation scenarios, improve the efficiency of logistics planning decisions, the accuracy of logistics investment calculations, and the reliability of logistics operation continuous optimization plans;

• Identify failure risks at all stages of the project, provide technical solutions and promote problem solving.

• Project management and implementation, budget management, project time management, support and coordination of project launch and problem solving during implementation


Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business (or) Logistics at a minimum. Preferable to have bachelor’s or advanced degrees in logistics engineering.

• More than 5-8 years of practical experience in logistics planning in the field of vehicle manufacturing and logistics, and has led the design and implementation of logistics automation projects, such as AGV/AMR, ASRS, conveyor, robots, etc.

• Passionate about factory design, logistics engineering, mechanical automation equipment, robotics, data analysis and innovative technology research.

• Able to manage the entire project from concept to manufacturing process while working in a close-knit team environment.

• Improve logistics processes by using digital factories, smart manufacturing, industrial Internet, IoT and AI concepts.

• Have basic knowledge and experience in logistics planning and packaging. Have experience in green field or brown field, and have the ability to lead and promote the design and implementation of logistics strategies and optimization projects.

• Able to use English for daily work communication.
