Job Description
- Supervise TIG/GTAW welding operations according to drawings, WPS, PQR, and applicable standards.
- Verify material identification, joint preparation, and fit-up before welding.
- Monitor welding parameters, filler materials, shielding gases, and interpass temperatures.
- Support the development and qualification of new welding procedures when required for new materials or projects.
- Coordinate with QC department for NDT inspections.
- Identify and report welding defects, propose corrective and preventive actions and maintain traceability records.
- Making recommendations and advising about product feasibility with welding methods
- Liaising with supervising engineering and quality staff all quality matters of welding process.
- Supervise daily welding activities, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and quality standards
- Implement and maintain documentation for welding processes and procedures.
- Verify welded assemblies meet design, dimensional, and quality requirements per engineering drawings, quality standards, and client specifications.
- Oversee the maintenance and calibration of welding machines, positioners, jigs, and fixtures.
- Monitor consumable usage (wire, electrodes, gases) and ensure availability according to production plans.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance weld quality, reduce rework, and increase efficiency.
- Conduct safety briefings and ensure the welding area meets fire prevention and ventilation standards.
- Train and mentor welders (if any) on new techniques, materials, and standards required
- Maintain accurate welding logs, inspection reports, and production documentation in accordance with customer and project requirements.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Providing technical advice about the suitability of metals for different purposes
- Continually improve systems, processes, and procedures to ensure the smooth running and increased effectiveness of the business to be the best in our field of activities.

Requirements
a. Background /qualification:
- University/ College degree/ Intermediate degree in Mechanical, Welding, or Manufacturing Engineering
- Welding certification
- Documentation training on training classes taken for welding process
b. Experience:
- Minimum 5-year experience in Welding including: TIG/ MIG and Plasma
- Can read and understand technical drawing
c. Special skills
- Excellent Welding technology
- Solid Material knowledge
- Metal cutting technology
- Knowledge of the welding process and equipment
- Able to identify welding defects such as cracks, porosity, undercut, inclusion, overlap.
- Knowledge of production processes and quality control
- Able to use vertical, flat, and overhead welding with a good penetration and high-quality appearance
- Strong mechanical engineering concepts, preferably of CNC machining (large High precision / High Value parts)
- Fair English in communication, writing, reading
