Engineer, Product Industrialization, Footwear (Contract)

• Assists overseas HQ Project Managers by facilitating communications between the HQ Project Managers and Vendors by gathering and passing information to HQ Project Managers which the HQ Project Managers use in their role of developing and commercializing a range of products

• Ensure cost targets set by overseas HQ Project Managers can be met within development plan set by the Project Managers. Faciliate communication and interaction between factory, suppliers and Costing team to optimize value/cost ratio

• Ensure feedback to overeas HQ Project Managers of test results and product evaluation covering areas of Fit/ Performance, Quality/Lab, Pattern/Grading, Cost/Productivity and commercial feasibility

1. Ensures all products are developed and commercialized in accordance with design and specification requirements as detailed by overseas HQ Project Managers while maintaining an emphasis on performance and integrity; ensures information on latest technical developments is passed back to the overseas Project Managers in order that they can consider the appropriateness of incorporating the same in products

2. Works with manufacturers and suppliers in continuous upgrades of technical applications and processes based on specifications and direction provided by the overseas HQ Project Managers.

3. Determines and integrates the best possible technical application for product without compromising on the design as developed by the overseas HQ Project Managers, the feasibility/productivity or cost allowance (i.e. Injected EVA, Gore Technology, Co-molding, computer stitching etc.)

4. Facilitate collaboration between factories, development, commercialization and costing to achieve cost targets. Ensure cost efficiencies and value/cost ratio. BOM and CBD accuracy are key objectives throughout the development process as directed by the overseas HQ Project Managers.

5. Ensures commercialization procedures are executed according to the commercialization calendar to allow for on-time production start; is able to work within commercialization timelines set by overseas HQ Project Managers without compromise to product quality.

6. Good understanding of supplier timelines (e.g. molds, lasts, components delivery) and ensures that these delivery timelines are respected.

7. Co-operates with factory and production team to facilitate the completion of production trial in a timely manner; facilitates communication between factory and the production team to resolve any potential problems, which may occur in the transition of the product from commercialization to production.

o Upholding Fair Labor Association’s Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing throughout the supply chain

• Mechanical back ground or College / university degree

• At least 5+ years experience in Footwear industry

• Priority to have more than 5+ years experience in facilitating with the development of outdoor/adventure running shoes

• Good understanding of shoes material and Lab testing.

• Good understanding of injection and compression EVA, mold making process in shoe industry

• Good interpersonal skill and team spirit

• Good command of written and spoken in English

• Basic Knowledge of Microsoft office. Good knowledge of CAD software will be advantage

• 6-month contract
