The Job
About the Role
- Corjl is looking for a talented Frontend Designer/Developer to join our product team. This is a critical role that bridges design thinking and engineering execution — someone who can look at any part of our application and immediately identify what can be improved, then turn that vision into a pixel-perfect, production-ready interface.
- The ideal candidate is a designer who learned to code — someone with an exceptional eye for detail, deep UI/UX instincts, and enough frontend engineering skill to bring their ideas to life. You will own the look, feel, and usability of Corjl across our entire product suite, starting with a comprehensive audit and cleanup of our end-user experience.
What You Will Do
In Your First 90 Days
- Conduct a thorough UI/UX audit of the end-user-facing application and produce a prioritized improvement plan.
- Standardize and clean up inconsistencies in spacing, typography, color usage, and component behavior across all screens.
- Establish or refine a design system to ensure consistency and scalability going forward.
- Create icon assets and other visual elements needed to bring a polished, professional feel to the product.
Ongoing Responsibilities
- Take product requirements and user stories and transform them into clear, intuitive UI proposals — owning all decisions about placement, labeling, and interaction patterns so engineers can focus on logic, not layout.
- Stub out new UI in Vue and/or React for new features; build fully functional components when scope allows.
- Design for all surface areas: responsive web, iOS, and Android, with a deep understanding of platform-specific usability patterns.
- Collaborate closely with engineers to ensure designs are practical to implement and testable.
- Define UI-related test cases and acceptance criteria alongside QA and engineering.
- Design graceful handling of loading states, error states, empty states, and edge cases across all features.
- Identify appropriate touchpoints for analytics, logging, and monitoring without overinstrumenting the UI.
- Create and maintain design documentation, component guidelines, and contribution standards.
Must Have
- Proven ability to design intuitive, user-friendly interfaces with a strong portfolio demonstrating UI/UX excellence.
- Expert-level CSS skills; deep knowledge of layout, animation, responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Solid experience building production applications with React and/or Vue, with clean, maintainable component architecture.
- Mobile-first design mindset with experience designing for responsive web and native mobile (iOS & Android).
- Ability to create or significantly refine a design system for consistency and scalability across a product.
- Experience designing for edge cases, failure states, and real-world usage scenarios.
- Ability to create icons, illustrations, and other visual assets directly as needed.
- Excellent English communication skills — both written and verbal.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
- Experience working within agile/scrum engineering workflows.
- Background in product design for SaaS or e-commerce platforms.
- Understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Experience with UI testing frameworks (e.g., Storybook, Playwright, Cypress).
- A high-impact role with real ownership over the look and feel of a growing product.
- A team that respects great design and is ready to invest in it — this is not a support role, it is a leadership one.
- Collaborative, engineering-driven environment based in Ho Chi Minh City.
- Competitive salary and benefits commensurate with experience.
